The National Cadet Special Activities Event Module in eServices has been activated, and is now accepting applications for the 2012 NCSA's.  The Scholarship Application Module is also open at this time.

There is a notice on the Event Module main screen that says “Due to ongoing budget uncertainty in Congress, the price reflected for special activities on NCSAS.com is TENTATIVE and is subject to change. We’re listing an estimated tuition so that families have a general idea as to the cost to participate.”  Any changes to the tuition will be communicated as quickly and completely as possible.

For the complete list of activities, visit: http://www.ncsas.com/

Flight Operations Resume

December Ops Notes

Flight Activity Resumes

As many of you know, most of our mission symbols had been suspended due to the Continuing Resolution in congress.  At this time, all mission symbols with the exception of A3 have been reauthorized by the NEC. Please note that this includes A15, Cadet Orientation Flights as authorized.  A large amount of emphasis has been placed on ensuring that flights are fiscally responsible so that we can continue to operate if there is another suspense in funding.  Please see note in eServices.

New From 5/91 Procedures

In order to ensure the most efficient use of funding and keep our pilots current, the Wing Stan/Eval officer will contact pilots ahead of their expiration month as to whether or not they will be approved for a F5/91 or not.  This will allow maximum time for the pilot to plan and execute this flight.  A policy statement will be posted on the Wing Website shortly with exact procedures codifying this new process.

Current Projects

These projects are being taken on by the PA Wing Operations Staff to provide training opportunities and guidance for our membership so that we may be more effective in supporting out communities.

  • Defining potential roles/tasks for Ground Teams during disaster relief operations
  • Developing training for aerial and ground based imagery and image distribution
  • Refining the monthly mission to ensure Ground, Air, and Mission Base crews are all given the chance for currency
  • Better incorporating mission rated Communicators into all missions and ensuring that the proper equipment is distributed for maximum affect (In coordination with Wing Communications Directorate)
  • Streamlining all mission paperwork to include documentation and reimbursement

Please feel free to email me at do@pawg.cap.gov with any questions or suggestions on how we can better serve our customers!
