Wing Commander

Col. Leslie Herr, commander of the Pennsylvania Wing of the Civil Air Patrol, heads a force of more than 1,600 volunteers dedicated to the organization's three core programs: aerospace education, emergency services and cadet programs.

Herr, headquartered at Fort Indiantown Gap National Guard Training Center, oversees CAP's critical role in Defense Support of Civil Authorities, working alongside the U.S. Air Force to preserve life, alleviate suffering, and provide training support. They ensure readiness, education and training opportunities for their members and represents their interests to external agencies throughout the state.

Herr's journey with CAP began in 2006 and they have served in various positions at the squadron, group, and wing level within the Pennsylvania Wing including most recently, Chief of Staff under Col. Will Schlosser.
