Description

Basic Encampment (ENC)
Students that attend the PAWG ENC often find the experience to be a corner stone of their cadet career. Not only is it the gateway to being able to phase into the officer portion of the cadet program as a requirement for the Billy Mitchell Award, but ENC completion also opens up many opportunities, such as the ability to attend National Cadet Special Activities (NCSAs).

ENC is also a unique opportunity for cadets to interface with other cadets and officers from across the entire state.  Many cadets forge friendships that last the course of their CAP career, if not their lifetime.
Leadership Development Course (LDC)
The PA Wing Leadership Development Course (LDC) is an intermediate-level professional development course for emerging cadets in the CAP Cadet Program. The purpose of the school is to bridge the gap between the entry-level followership skills taught in Encampment and the advanced leadership theory taught in the Region Cadet Leadership School and Cadet Officer School programs.  LDC teaches cadets to be "first line supervisors" and conveys key leadership concepts for leadership at the Flight Sergeant and Flight Commander levels.
Completion of LDC allows graduates to apply for the following cadet cadre positions at CTS sponsored cadet programs: BCOP, NCOA, JOTC, ENC, and LDC.  As of 2015, this course now meets the requirements for credit as an Advanced Student at Encampment, allowing graduates to wear the bronze clasp on the Encampment Ribbon.
STEM Academy (STEM)
The PA Wing Color Guard Academy (CGA) is a weeklong course held the week of CTS Summer Schools.  The objective is to learn everything you need to know to participate in and lead a color guard at the home squadron and participate in Wing/Region/National Cadet Competition. All needed color guard equipment is furnished by the CGA.
Color Guard Academy (CGA)
PAWG CTS will once again host our popular Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics (STEM) Academy that covers four core subjects:  Rocketry, Space & Astronomy, Cyberspace, and Robotics.  Emphasis is placed on ensuring as much “hands-on” learning as possible be incorporated into the curriculum.

Our goal is to provide academic and laboratory learning for each of these core STEM subjects.  In addition to introducing cadets to each subject material, we also focus on opportunities where cadets can eventually enter these career fields and other avenues where cadets can pursue specialized education.

Industry and governmental leaders in STEM related fields regularly participate as guests speakers and contributors, offering their advice and insights, making the PA Wing STEM Academy is truly an exciting and valuable, once-in-a-lifetime experience.
